Theatrical carnival at Epicentre in February!

Theatre lovers have a reason to rejoice this month! Epicentre’s cultural calendar is fully packed in February with power-packed plays that will compel you to take time off from your busy schedules! Just as the 14th Ishara International Puppet Festival concludes, we have three plays by Director Atul Satya Koushik – Chakravyuh starring Nitish Bharadwaj, Couple Trouble starring Kashmera Shah and Wo Lahore starring Avtar Gill to uplift your weekend on consecutive days (19th, 20th and 21st Feb respectively).

With Chakravyuh (Hindustani/95mins), Koushik expands on his interpretation of the story of Abhimanyu, offering a metaphor for man’s existential quandaries. Nitish Bharadwaj of B.R Chopra’s “Mahabharata” appears as Krishna and becomes the mouthpiece of the director-playwright to communicate his vision of the Mahabharata.

Couple Trouble (Hinglish/80mins) is a comic story that revolves around extra marital affairs and guarantees full-on entertainment. The focus of the play, which is neither preachy nor critical, is on dialogues and movements of the four characters and highlights the contrasting principles of Indian men.

Wo Lahore (Hindustani/95mins) is a musical drama set in the middle of twentieth century India and shows the internal conflicts and turmoil prevailing in an ordinary Indian family with the struggle for freedom, contemporary social beliefs and the partition in the backdrop.

The exciting mélange of mythology, comedy and emotions will surely light up your winter evenings exclusively at Epicentre!

Tickets at Rs. 500 & 400 are available at the venue for all 3 plays.
